This week has been a little slower than most. Some of our appointments fell through and we weren't able to see everyone we wanted to. But we have the great news to tell you guys! So let’s start...
First off, this week was transfer calls. I'm staying here for another 6 weeks, and honestly, I’d love to stay here longer than that. I really have enjoyed the people I've met here in Blackfoot. Elder Kolb is staying as well. I mean he has to, there is a ward talent show coming up and the ward, seeing our amazing acting abilities, has asked us to participate! hahah :) Sadly, Sister Barnett who has been serving in the other half of the stake is leaving, She is going to Iona. I'm really happy as well Because my missionary buddy, Elder Plunkett is coming into the Zone! We served around each other in Idaho Falls so it'll be great to have him in the zone. This week we had the opportunity to help the Stake President with some service. He is renovating his home and he needed some furniture and other items moved and a big trailer hauled to the dump. It was a good way to do some physical labor and it’s always enjoyable to do service. We also had dinner this week with a Sheriff's Deputy and he let us take pictures in his Patrol Car.
Gary and Kristie: Drum roll please..... THEY HAD THEIR BAPTISMAL INTERVIEWS AND ARE READY FOR THEIR BAPTISM THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We met with them last night and got their program all in order, they had their interviews this morning, and they are all set for this weekend! We are so excited for them! They have asked Brother Inskeep, their neighbor, and our High Counselor over Missionary work, to do the baptisms. They have also asked US to do the confirmation on Sunday. They have asked Elder Nielson to come to the baptism and to give a talk on Baptism as well. We are so proud of them and the steps they have taken. We know that Heavenly Father is proud of them as well. :) HOOOO WOOOOO!!!!
Blade: Blade came to church yesterday and he seemed to really enjoy it! He told us last week that he really feels the spirit at church and when we talk and he knows it’s true. We are working with him to help him find service opportunities so he can get off probation. We are visiting with him tonight as well.
Storm: Storm was in a Musical this past week. The Wizard of Oz. So we didn't get a chance to meet with her but we did support her in this Musical. She likes seminary and has been going to church religiously. We are so happy for her and we are helping her prepare for a future baptism.
Alyssa & Alora: These girls have been doing well. We visited with them for a little bit this week but their brother has been diagnosed with Leukemia and has been really sick lately. We have been going over and helping their Step Dad, Art, fix up their backroom and have bonded with him that way.
Wes: Wes is doing well. He has been super busy with work this week so we haven't been able to meet with him. We've kept in contact through some members and they have invited him to dinner and other church activities. He has a testimony that the Church is true. But he just wants to make sure that his decision won't affect his family relationships.
Conner: Our appointment with Conner fell through. We are planning on going over this Wednesday to talk to him and his Mom and get things figured out. He hasn't come to church even when he says he will. Hopefully we can get this to work. He really does want to get baptized; he just has a hard time taking action.
Sierra: We had an appointment this week with Sierra. We've told her what she needs to do to receive an answer to her prayers, We've bore our own testimonies to her. Now it’s up to her to act and find out for herself, or to at least develop the desire to find out. She comes to church activities occasionally but she isn't ready to make a commitment.
Jason and Susan: These are some less active members that we have been teaching. I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned them, But I love these guys! They are newly married and are preparing to go through the temple. They are great! They have had some things in their past that they needed help overcoming and it was hard for them. But they went to the proper help and are doing all they need to do. They are now pretty much active. They pay their tithing, stay for classes, and have come to a lot of ward activities. We really love these guys!
All in all it’s been a pretty good week. We are excited for this upcoming week and for the Baptism on Saturday. Please keep Gary and Kristie in your prayers that this week can go smoothly for them. I love you guys and hope all is well.
Love
