Dear Friends and Family
This week has been a really long and
stressful week. Let's talk...
This week a LDS Family in Pocatello
passed away due to a terrible Carbon Monoxide accident. This family, the
Parrish Family lived a Block away from President and Sister Brinkerhoff. Also
Sister Barnett, a sister missionary serving in the other half of our stake
Served with the Parrish Family when Brother Parrish served as Ward Mission
Leader. This has been a hard week for a lot of missionaries in the IPM. This
week we also had Zone Conference in Idaho Falls. It was a good experience and
we were trained and were able to see missionaries we haven't seen in a while. I
saw Elder Nielson there as well! After the Zone Conference we took a little
detour through Ammon... ;) I'll post a picture...
This week we met with almost all of our
investigators. It was so neat to see all of them in one week so we can help
them grow and progress towards baptism.
Art: We helped him work on his car. This
was good because we could talk to him and also share some good hard work.
Alyssa & Alora: These girls are
Art's step daughters. We've been meeting with them for a while and they really
want to learn more. Art sat in on the lesson which he normally doesn't so that
was neat. The girls have had a hard time making and keeping commitments, So Art
who usually doesn't try to suede them one way or the other actually sat them
down when we visited and told them that this is THEIR choice and if they make
it then they need to follow through and that he will support them in their
decision.
Gary & Krystie: They have been out
of town for a week so that they can spend some time together and relax from all
the stress that they have. We've texted them and called them and had really
good talks and they are just enjoying the time away from their crazy lives.
Wes: Wes has been doing well. There was
something that offended him at Church but we were able to help him. He still
comes to church, and participates in activities.
Blade: Blade is awesome. We've had some
great lessons with him and he wants to get baptized. He wasn't able to come to
church this week. We are meeting with him today and he is preparing for
baptism.
Storm: Storm is a new Investigator. Her
really good friend invited her to hear the lessons and she accepted. She has
been being taught by other Elders who didn't tell us for a long time that she
lived in our area... That my dears is called Poaching... But she is great! She
wants to be baptized. She understands a lot. She is a Junior in high school.
Takeera: Takeera is an investigator we
haven't talked about I don't think. She is 10. She is actually getting baptized
this Saturday!!! Hahah sorry for the surprise! She understands so much for
being so young! Her parents are less active and we are trying to get them to
come back to activity.
Conner: Conner is doing really well. He
just has a super hard time coming to church! We are trying to help him get
there but he usually gets sick around the weekends...
This week we also were in the church
building with some other missionaries and we found a CHICKEN SUIT!!!! Well we
had to try it on!!!! hahah We had some fun with that!
We also found these two dogs. They were
just walking down the street and they stopped and we pet them for a little bit.
They were so nice! So eventually it was time to go so we said goodbye and
opened the door to the car to put our stuff inside, AND THEY JUMPED INSIDE!!!!
And they refused to get out! hahah it was funny! SO... we took them for a
little joy ride! :) hahah they were great companions for the day. Then when we
were done we dropped them off where we had found them.
Well today we are going down to
Pocatello to play LAZER TAG!!! the whole zone is going and it’s going to be a
blast!
Well I love you guys and hope all is
going well. I'll be trying to write handwritten letters soon.
Love,
Elder Rash
