HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week has gone by really quick. Let’s see if I can remember half the stuff that went on...
This week we had the opportunity to take Jason and Susan to the Temple Visitor Center. That was a great experience. They were able to watch a video about Eternal Families and the Blessings of the Temple. During the movie Susan started to cry. It's been amazing to see the change in them since we started. We walked around the Temple Grounds for a little bit and then they took us out to Dickies Barbecue. It was a good time :) They are going to start taking the Temple Prep Classes soon.
We had 4 investigators at Church this week.
Aubree: She is 10 and is getting baptized the 24th of this month. We have been working with her and her family. Her Dad is getting the Melchizedek Priesthood this Sunday so that he can do the Baptism and Confirmation of his Daughter. Aubree has such a strong testimony of the Gospel. I've never heard the gospel taught with such power as this little girl, when she speaks.
Conner: CONNER FINALLY CAME TO CHURCH!!!!! I've been working with him for 5 months and he has finally come to church! His mom came too! They came this week because of a great member! Brother Capson is their home teacher and he came with us to the last lesson and he very lovingly but boldly told Conner and His Mom that he would be there Sunday morning to get them for Church. It was great to see him there!
Kevin: Kevin is in his 40's. He has been taught by us, then by other missionaries, then by us, then by other missionaries, and now he is back to us. He is a good guy. He has a crazy past. He is associated with a famous biker gang in California. He is all tatted up but he is actually just a big teddy bear. But he has been trying to quit smoking and get his life in order so he can be baptized. And he came to church too.
Anthony: We stopped by Anthony's house right before church just in passing and invited him to come. He immediately jumped up and said he'd be there. Anthony is 10. He is great! He even got up and bore his testimony in Sacrament again. He loves playing basketball so we are getting him to come shoot hoops with us at the church building this week.
Other investigators we saw this week.
Storm: She is doing well. She tried talking to her mom about her baptism but her mom wouldn't listen. She is really discouraged about it. We are praying for a miracle to happen with them. Storm is still going to church and meeting with us.
Blade: We haven't had the chance to see him for a couple weeks. A signup sheet was passed around the ward for service opportunities for him so that he can get off probation. He has been spending a lot of time with his Grandma.
Alyssa and Alora: They are doing ok. They have been really busy recently and so we haven't been able to talk with them a lot. They seem to be losing interest in church stuff. We are going to go see them this week and get stuff figured out.
So two Elder's that came out with me are now the Assistant's to the President. Elder Soloman and Elder Gulisane, who were MTC Companion's, are now AP's. So it's pretty cool for our MTC district to see them back together.
Oh!!! For family, we will be skyping at 2 o’clock on Sunday. So be ready. :)
Well I love you guys! Hopefully all is well and you get those letters I sent soon. YES, I sent letters. :)
Love
Elder Caleb Rash
