This week has been crazy busy but super rewarding.
Also this week I also hit my 1 year mark of being on my mission! It feels so
strange to look back and it all feels like it's flown by. So in honor of my
halfway mark I’m only going to send HALF of my email this week. ;) (My mom is
going to flip out)
So this past week started off pretty awesome! On P day
we all grabbed our guitars and jammed out and it was a lot of fun. We also
played some fun games. That night we met with a young girl named Sierra. She is
15 and her parents are less active. Her grandma is an active member and she
recommended we go talk to her. So we set up an appointment and went over. She
is Golden! She asked great questions and really is taking this seriously. She
really wants to know the truth. We invited her to Church and she came
yesterday. We are meeting with her again today to talk about the Plan of
Salvation.
We have been working hard to try and find new people
to begin teaching so this past week we also went over to meet Connor. Connor is
9 and his older brother recently got baptized. We visited with him and his mom
and we could see he was kind of shy. We asked if he wanted to have the lessons
and we gave him time to think about it. We then got started talking about ...
Star Wars and Legos. Connor came out of his shell almost immediately and before
long he was grabbing every piece of Star Wars and Lego gear he could find
around the house! Haha As we were talking to his older brother Connor went up
to his mom and whispered "I want to take the lessons" I happened to
hear it and we got really excited. Connor is a great kid! We are meeting with
him this Wednesday.
We also have been meeting with...... This is the end
of Elder Rash's Email #1.....................................
Just
Kidding! I wouldn't do that to you mom!
We also have been meeting with Gary and Krystie. The
other night we were over at their house and their daughter, Jen, was talking to
us. We asked her if she wanted to learn more about what her parents are
learning. She said yeah and that she had been thinking about baptism as well!
So we talked to her and gave her a Book of Mormon. She and the Curtis's came to
Church yesterday as well. On a side note, we would like to ask for your prayers
for Krystie. Next week she is going to Boise for neck surgery. This will be her
second surgery on her neck. She is a little nervous. So if you could pray for
Krystie that would be wonderful.
Wes is doing well too! He's been coming to Church and
we had Family Home Evening with him this week and some members! It was great
and he loved it. The ward has really made him feel loved and welcome. I have no
doubt that he will be baptized when he is ready. He just wants to make sure his
family will be ok with it.
All in all it's been a great week. We had many
opportunities to teach and see a change in people. I love this work. I'm so
happy I have another year to see all the blessings the Lord has to offer these
people!
I love you guys and hope all is well! I pray for you
every night.
Love,
Elder Rash
