Week 23 - Exciting changes in missionary work coming!

Dear Family and Friends,

Do you know that feeling you get when you don't want to write, but you have to or else your CRAZY mother who loves you to DEATH will drive up to your mission and strangle you??? ... NO??? Well I do. Just kidding, I love you mom :)
Hahaha This week sure did fly by!!!! First off, Thank you to my loving grandparents who gave me my birthday gifts :) Afterwards all my missionary buds said that that sort of thing is quite common in the mission so don't feel weird about it. So thank you!
Well first off, Congratulations to Andrea and Clinton!!!! I saw pictures and it looked like a beautiful wedding!
Also Congrats to Debbie and Jeremy, Give Maylie my love and I will see her in about a year and a half! hahah
Congrats to Katelyn Holland for getting her mission call!!! Everett Washington is going to have so much success come September! :)
It seems like the Rash family and friends have sure been busy this summer! Up here in Pocatello things are starting to warm up. We had a cold spell for a little bit but it’s getting better. My companion and I are as hard working and as fun loving as ever!
This week we set a baptismal date with one of our investigators, Juan. We took him on a tour of the church building and he felt the spirit so strong! We asked him if he wanted to be baptized and he said yes! He is going to be baptized on July 20th. The story about how this was all possible is kind of miraculous! I will tell it to you... So we didn't have an appointment with Juan. But we felt like we needed to go take him on a church tour. So we went and grabbed a member and then went over to his house. We knocked on the door and his Fiancée told us he wasn't home. So dejected and disappointed we walked back to the car. As we were about to drive away I saw something shiny in the road. (yes yes yes.... I get sidetracked easily by shiny things) so I told the others with me to look. We spent a few moments talking about what it could be then I went to go grab it. It turns out it was a huge bullet casing for some high powered rifle. We looked at it for a little while longer and right when we were going to leave again, Juan pulled into his driveway. Now if I hadn't been distracted and taken those 3 minutes to examine that casing, we would have missed Juan. God works in mysterious ways. And sometimes he uses the ADHD of elders to accomplish his work.
We have met with a lot of Investigators and are working to help them progress. The Wards here are pretty small like I’ve mentioned before. They have A LOT of inactive members that we will be working with as well.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to hear from the Apostles about missionary work on the Worldwide Leadership Broadcast about Missionary Work. In it Elder Holland talked a lot about the new ways missionaries will be doing work. Such as the use of the Internet, Facebook, IPADS, and Blogs. The Lord is really really hastening the work!!! I'm so excited to see the changes take place throughout my mission! I love you all and can't wait to hear from you.
I'd like to bear my testimony to you. That I know that this is the most important work ANYONE can do. The work we are about is the Work of Salvation of Souls. I know that our Savior lives. That he loves each and every one of us! And that the Holy Ghost is real. I have felt it and I know anyone can feel it! If you just experiment on the Word. Read the Book of Mormon. Pray about it. And go to Church. If you JUST do those THREE things! YOU WILL FEEL IT!!!! I promise you that as a Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. I love you guys and am proud to be serving a mission!

Love,
Elder Rash
