Well this week has been a lot better than last week
let me tell you! We have had a lot of success this week which is great! The bad
news is.... We ran out of miles on our car so now we are riding our bikes
everywhere. Which is fine except for every block out in the country is a mile
long. :P We only have this week though until we get more miles so it shouldn't
be too bad... unless it snows.
This week we had a 2 day long exchange. Elder Rabe
went with Elder Viana in our area and I went with Elder Carter in his. I've
never been on a 2 day exchange before. But because we did so much service the
first day Elder Rabe wanted a second day to really evaluate how we were doing.
I was very happy to get back to my own bed by the second night. Haha
Now I’ll take some time to talk about some of our
Investigators....
Koryann: She has been sick lately so we haven't been
able to talk to her or her mom. Hopefully they get feeling better and we can go
over this week.Jake: Again he has been sick too. There must be something going around. But we were able to give him a blessing Saturday night and he went to his friend’s mission farewell the next day.
Lucas: We met with Lucas twice this week making sure he is prepared for his baptism THIS SATURDAY!!!! He totally is! His family is so supportive and active in the Church. All he needs is to be interviewed by a missionary and he is set! :)
Jaren: We have been meeting with Jaren for some time but could never call him an investigator because he wasn't 9. Well this week he turned 9 and on his birthday we set a baptismal date for Nov 16th. He is really excited. His family is an active family but he just never wanted to be baptized. We went over and Elder Viana asked him why he had never wanted to be baptized. He told us that he was afraid that once he was baptized he'd have to be perfect. We told him that wasn't the case and we could just see the concern and fear leave him.
Chase: Another new investigator who is 10. None of his
family are members but all his friends are. We have been trying to teach him
for a long time and his Dad finally gave the go ahead. So we taught him last
night and set a baptismal date with him too.
Adrian: He is doing great! He is coming to church and
he truly has a desire to be baptized. We met with him and went over the lessons
again just to refresh him memory.
John: Another new investigator! He is 22. His mom and
dad are members, His mom is active, and his dad isn't. He was taught the
lessons when his parents joined but didn't get baptized. He really is curious
and wants to know more.
Well as you can see we have had a great week! There
will always be trials, but as we persevere we can overcome. I really love this
quote that my Grandpa told my Mom and my Mom told me "A weak man finds an excuse;
a strong man finds a way." I know that is true. I know that the way is
through Jesus Christ. He died for us so that we may live. I love my Savior and
know He loves all of us.
I love you guys! :) Stay warm
Elder Rash
