Week 25: "Son of a Detective"

Dear Family and Friends,

This week has been awesome!!!! We had an extra P day on the fourth of July! We watched a parade, watched fireworks, played volleyball, and just had fun with friends!
Elder Porter and I have been working hard to find more people to teach and so far we have had success! Last night we had a really great lesson with a Part Member family in our area. The dad is a member and he wants to be active so much! Every time we come over he is giddy with excitement. His wife and kids are not members but are super nice and excited to learn more! We really connect with them and are excited to teach them more.
This week we fell out of contact with Juan. He got kicked out of his girlfriend’s house and he went off the grid. We tried to contact him on his phone and nothing was working. Let me just say that I am definitely the son of a detective. The only two pieces of information we had was that he had a job at a research center and had a brother that lived somewhere in town. So we had a member look up the phone number to his place of work. We gave it a call and asked if Juan was there. They said he wasn't working right now and that they couldn't give us any more info than that. So all we got from that was that he was still in town. We were going to stake out that call center until we saw him. But then I had an idea, I know it was definitely the Holy Ghost whispering to me. So we grabbed the phone book. We searched for Juan's last name and got a hit. It was a long shot but we decided to go for it. We called the number and asked if Juan was there. After talking to the person who answered the phone for a few moments, explaining ourselves he told us that Juan was there and put him on the phone. WE HAD FOUND JUAN!!!!! It was so cool!!!! I definitely felt like Sherlock Holmes afterwards! We set up a time to meet with him and we are excited to see him soon.
I know that the Holy Ghost is real! That he does help us when we don't know what to do. He tells us when things are true. We have had really neat experiences this week and are looking forward to this new week!
Happy Birthday Grandma Starr!!!! And Happy Late Birthday Grandpa Boushley!!! I love you guys!!!
Oh!! Some cool new developments have been taking place in the mission field. Starting immediately we are now allowed to wear Khaki pants!!!! I have no idea why but we are! Also starting soon we will no longer be allowed to wear Backpacks. We will be switching over to satchels, possibly for the safety of the I pads we will soon be getting, or to help with back problems. I'm not sure. But NO MORE backpacks....
Well that's all I have for this week. I love you all!
Love,
Elder Rash
