Hello Everyone!
This has been a tough week. Not going to lie. Many of our investigators aren't progressing and many appointments have fallen through. I thank you all for your prayers on my behalf! I know I would not be here today if not for those prayers! Lets see if I can update you on some of my recent activities. Some of them are kind of funny too! :)
This week I went on exchanges again. This time I was with the District Leaders comp. He is a visa waiter getting ready to go to Argentina. We get along really well and we had a fun time on exchanges! We started off in the morning playing basketball with the Elders in a ward I cover. Oh! I almost forgot! This Elder (Elder Miller) has a basketball scholarship with University of Utah! So yeah, He's pretty good at basketball! which was fun! We set up the teams so it was the Missionaries vs the Elders. It was a great way to blow off some pent up steam! After that we went home, showered, ate breakfast, and started our studies. After studying(because he is still in training) I had an hour in which to train Elder Miller. I decided to talk about Christ like attributes and we read out of PMG. It was a learning experience for both of us. Then we went out to work! We didn't have any planned appointments so we decided to track an area that we haven't worked in in a while. Elder Miller is a fireball! He was so excited to get to work! It was a little cloudy as we were tracting and we came across a man who was crushing TONS of cans to scrap them. We went up to him and asked how he was doing. The first thing he said was "How are you enjoying the Apocalypse?!?!" Elder Miller and I looked at each other.... We said "Ummm... we are enjoying it! it's nice out!" He then gestures to all around us and says "This is a sign of Revelations chapter 15!!!!" Uhhh WHAT??? hahaha This guy was the WEIRDEST man I've ever met! And he just kept on going!!! He talked about the clouds and the flooding of the Mississippi and said "That's what happens when you give weather control to the Government!" hahaha Elder Miller and I kept our composure just long enough to get out of hearing distance then we busted up laughing!!!!! It was one of the most random funny moments on my mission so far! We had a good rest of the day! We had some impromptu lessons and out of no where Elder Miller asked one of our investigators to be baptized! Hahaha she said she would think about it and let us know! It was a good day!
Michael is doing well! Work has really taken off for him so he is very busy!
Jeszyka is studying a lot out of the bible and prays a lot. We are trying to get her to read more of the Book of Mormon.
Emma is a 9 year old who wants to get baptized. We are teaching her the lessons and making sure she understands them before baptism.
Sue and Larry are an older couple who are taking the lessons. They've had us over for dinner before and are very nice!!! Larry is less active and sue isn't a member.
We are still meeting with Rachel. Her daughter is having some problems and she has been struggling. We are trying to help her quit smoking and drinking. Its what she uses when she is stressed. Which is all the time.
Transfers are coming up in a couple weeks and I get the feeling I'll be moving. Its sad because this area has become like my home but I know that there are more people I need to help elsewhere! Zone Conference is also coming up and Don R Clarke of the 70 is coming. My zone will be going down to Pocatello for the ZC. I'll get to see Elder Malau Ulu so that will be fun!!!
Well that's all I have for today! I love all you guys! I pray for you often!
Love,
Elder Rash
