Week 16: "And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke". Isaiah 6:4

Hey Everyone,

Well this week has been a little bit more difficult but also very promising! First off, a funny story!!!

This week, I decided to boil some eggs. I was hungry for some eggs and they were about to go bad so why not boil them!? So I fill a pot with water put the eggs on the stove, set the timer and went to start my study time. About half-way through Elder Standage says, let’s call Casagrande (a member in our area who takes the missionaries out to eat sometimes) and see if he wants to go out. So we call, he does, so we get ready and leave. We go to subway and have sandwiches. We also needed to pick up Elder Standage's bike so it took us about an hour and a half to get home. As we are putting Elder Standage’s bike in the garage I notice it smells TERRIBLE in the garage. I pause; sniff, listen.... and I hear a faint beeping..... My heart dropped. I dropped everything and sprinted to the back door. Throw open the door and... WHAM!!!! wall of smoke right in my face!!!! I cover my nose and go running in! Run to the kitchen, grab the flaming hot pot, throw it into the sink, make sure nothing is on fire, and then proceed to open every window and door in the apartment and turn off the smoke alarms. As I ran back outside I see smoke pouring out of every opening. Luckily no one called the fire department so I didn't have to explain my stupidity to too many people. So now our house smells like burnt eggs.... Moral of the story is: Don't leave the stove unattended for long amounts of time boys and girls!

On a happier note: JESZYKA IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!! She is so ready and she's only been here a month and a half!!! She gets more and more excited every day!!!! Michael is backing her up 100%! and he's going to be next! I know it!!!

On a sadder note: Zach is no longer with us.... Long story short, some things have come to light, about him not being truthful with us and with Michael. So we tried to help him work through it but we were making little progress. One morning Michael felt strongly that Zach should leave. So Zach packed his belongings and left. We don't know where he went or if he still wants to meet with us. I guess only time will tell....

Besides that we have had a lot of success with our other investigators and it’s been a busy week. I enjoy getting all your letters! They really cheer me up :) I hope everything is going well. If any of you want to email me directly you can. And I will probably respond quicker than if you wrote me a letter. Sorry this letter is so short but I am really tired today! Next week will be better!

Love,

Elder Rash
