Week 83: A Shocking Week

Dear Family and Friends

What an awesome week!!!! It was jam packed!!!

First off! We had our P' day activity with our zone where we played party games and jammed out on the guitar! So much fun!!! There is some real talent in our zone. So we sang some funny songs and just had a blast. We even got the sisters involved in a game of Speed. The Pocatello North Zone is where it’s at!!!

We had some really great District meetings we got to go to this week as well. Great Training's about how to become better teachers and followers of Christ. I love how the LDS Church is centered on Christ. In fact our name is "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints" It is his Church. And we Worship God the Father in the name of Christ.

On Wednesday we had the opportunity to lay sod. I've never done it before and it was a lot of fun! It was like putting an easy jigsaw puzzle together of just grass. And the people we were doing service for had some ponies and ducks and chickens so when they went to go grab more sod we played with the animals. It was fun to try and catch the ducks. Elder Merkley is a total Duck whisperer! I also didn't realize what this little yellow string was going across the fence until it was too late.... Stupid electric fence....

Thursday we spent the day running errands for the Zone, picking up supplies, distributing needed items and also planning for the upcoming week. We spent quite a bit of time planning for how we can help our zone improve. We came up with a lot of crazy and cool ideas and it was neat to just spend so much time thinking about other missionaries and their needs. It helps me so much to be able to get out of my bubble of my area, my companion, my investigators, and think about others. It’s refreshing.

Friday was a busy busy busy day. Friday we had 7 investigator appointments and we met with less active members as well. We see Miracles every day here in Pocatello.

Saturday we Correlated and prepared for the Musical Fireside. We were hosting the fireside in our building so we spent time setting up the arrangements, chairs, we even had slideshows of Christ in the foyers along with Book of Mormons and Pamphlets. President Brinkerhoff Presided over it and everything went so well. There were many songs and they were all centered on Christ. There is real Talent in our mission!

Sunday was the Fireside and it was Beautiful. Everything went off without a hitch and a group of Elders and I performed a 4 part acapella arrangement of the Lord’s Prayer. It was really neat. There was a big turn out as well.

Well everyone is doing well here. I hope and pray for you all. It’s weird hearing that Randy and Brad and Matt Cluff are home now... And even in my mission so many of my missionary buddies are home now and emailing me by their first names. Weird....

Well I love you all and hope everything is well at home. This Church is true!

Love
