This week was full of crazy experiences! But that's what you get when you have a mental health hospital in your area! ;) Haha
So before I begin I have to share a story that happened when Elder Vincent (My district leader) and I went to the State Mental Hospital to visit with some people who are interested in meeting with us. So it was like any usual time we go there... Mostly people just seem to be in a drug induced stupor, the people who are bright eyed though enjoy our company. After we read the scriptures with a man who has bad sight we were approached by a woman who was very happy and excited to see us. She immediately asked if we could visit, and being a little taken aback we agreed. We went into a room and she began by telling us she was pregnant... that's not the weird part... the weird part is the fact that she claims to be pregnant with the baby Jesus!!!! (She isn't even pregnant) She also went on the say how she was a prophetess and she and the Olympic Snowboarder Shawn White were married. She went on to prophesy about the future and tons of... interesting stuff. She is apparently going to live in Hawaii in a 9.5 million dollar house (Provided by Shawn of course) and that she is going to be the next American Idol Winner and be a Victoria Secret Supermodel. As we sat there Elder Vincent left me out to dry as he said very little! I was then left to answer her questions on whether or not she'd be accepted in the LDS church. I definitely believe the Spirit was with me so I could be mature and tactful about my response. Now let me be clear in saying that this woman is a Child of God and we care about her. I'm not telling this story to belittle her or what she has said in any way. I simply have written what happened and if you get the enjoyment that we got out of the situation then so be it! ;) Hahah
Also another missionary and I found out a cool connection. Elder Miller is from Queen Creek and his Dad works for Mesa PD. His dad and my dad both work together. We both want to be Cops too. He's pretty cool and we get along well.
Alyssa and Alora came to church yesterday!!!! WooHOO They enjoyed it and so they will start coming regularly we hope! Also their brother is back from the hospital so things are looking up.
Gary and Krystie made it to church as well. Their daughter Jen even came too. But unfortunately they couldn't stay for all of church because of Kristie's infusions that she has to get.
Paul is doing well too. We are helping him to do family history so he can go to the temple for his ancestors.
Aubree was at church as well and we are going over this week to finish up our service project for them. She is doing really well.
Conner has changed his baptismal date for the 28th of June. I really hope that I can be there for it. We will see this Thursday if I stay or if I go. The CLAW!!!! They claw chooses who will stay and who will go! <--- Name that movie!
This week is transfer calls. I really do hope I can stay. But if I don't then I know that the area will be in good hands with Elder Kolb... Unless they move both of us. I will not be happy if they do that.
Well that's all I got this week. Thank you so much for all the birthday cards and wishes! I will be writing personal thank you cards soon! I love you guys and I hope all is going well.
Love
Elder Rash
