This week was really good! We had interviews with President Brinkerhoff, great appointments with investigators, and a really fun time doing most of it.
Interviews with President were really good. So it goes into a Bishops office and begins interviewing the missionaries one at a time. While that is going on, the Assistants to the President and Sister Brinkerhoff give training's to our district about how to be good missionaries. They gave really good training's and we all felt the spirit. President told us that this zone has the highest numbers and the highest consistency with baptisms in the whole mission. So we felt pretty good. :) All the missionaries here are truly a family and we work hard to help one another and do the Lords work. It’s so great when we have trainings and it isn't on the "big stuff" anymore. Like HOW to do missionary work. We all know and are doing those things. Now we are focusing more on the little things that no one else would think about. Like making sure we are safe at all times or that we are obedient with the little stuff. This is a great zone to be in.
When my interview came up I went in and President and I had a great talk :) I asked him boldly if I could stay here in Blackfoot. I told him that I have a work to do here that isn't finished. He said he has no plans on moving me so it looks like I’m staying. :) Transfers are in 3 weeks.
This week Elder Kolb and I had a little fun. :) The sister missionaries in our stake pulled a prank on me during Conference. They put mustard in my water bottle and shook it up. I took a huge gulp before I realized what had happened.... Revenge is not the Lord's way.... But I’m not perfect and that is what Repentance is for. So Elder Kolb and I devised a devious plan. The following Monday we bought 12 pounds of popcorn and went over to a member’s house that was willing to help us. We spent the morning popping the Corn and putting it into huge black bags. We filled up 2 bags full and cut out a card board box to fit the size of their door. We drove over to their house with the member, Brother Turpin, and we ran to their door, duct taped the card board to their door frame so there was a little gap between the door and the card board. THEN WE DUMPED ALL THE POPPED CORN INTO THE GAP AND RAN!!!!!! :D hehehe The sisters heard the noise and ran to open the door. Falling right into our trap. Popped corn went everywhere :) :) :) It was a really fun prank. But we then were gentlemen and went to help them clean up the mess. All in all it was a good day.
Paul: Paul is doing really well. We had a lesson with him about the Plan of Salvation and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He and his girlfriend recently got a new puppy! He has committed to give up coffee and is preparing for his Baptism.
Gary and Kristie: Are doing ok. They are both exhausted from work and doctors appointments. We are planning on going to the Temple Visitor center with them this weekend with the Inskeeps.
Storm: Storms mom is having her go to other churches just so she knows that she really wants to join the LDS church. So on Sunday she went to a Lutheran Church. She said it was really weird. I'm not worried about her. I know she has a testimony and it’s just a matter of time until her mom softens up to us. We did have a really nice talk with her mom last week. She was pleasant with us and it was good.
Blade: Blade came to church this Sunday! We are meeting with him tonight as well. The ward has really supported him and is looking for service opportunities. His Cousin, Aaron got baptized 2 months ago and wants to help Blade with the lessons and also wants to baptize him.
Alyssa and Alora: We went over and had dinner with them and they have had some really good things happen. Their brother found out that he has less than 1 percent of Leukemia in his body. This is GREAT! Also their step dad Art, Passed the Bar exam and the beginning of May he becomes an Esquire. So things are really going better for their family.
Everything is going well here in Blackfoot. The weather is warming up, the people are great, and the field is white. I hope all is going well. I love you guys!
