Week 44: So Much Potential

Dear Family and Friends,
Well this week has gone by really quick! There is SOO much potential in this area! It was just a matter of finding it! Lets see what is new....
Coming into this area there wasn't much for us to do right off the bat. We met with our Church leaders and tried to make contact with as many people as we could. But it felt like we were spinning our wheels. But now that we've been here for a couple weeks we are seeing the fruits of our labors. It's like trying to push a boulder over a cliff. It's hard at first but then it picks up momentum and takes care of the rest! Let's talk about some of our investigators.
Mercados: This is a less active family. They have a 9 year old son who hasn't been baptized. We met with them on Saturday and asked if we could teach them. They agreed so we have an appointment with them tonight! The son goes to church with his Grandpa who is active. He wants be be baptized.
Wes: Wes is a non member who recently went through a tough time in his life. He is battling for custody of his kids and is having major trials in his life. His heart has been softened by this and so he agreed to meet with us. We taught him about the Plan of Salvation and it went really well.
Torres: This is another less active family with a child who hasn't been baptized. We went over and met them as well. We are working with them members to set something up so we can begin teaching them.
Gary and Krystie: These two are our Golden Investigators!!! :) We had an appointment with them last night and they are both so prepared! We invited Krystie to be baptized on the same day as Gary. December 14th. They both are reading and praying and are almost like active members already. They come to church every sunday! We are so excited for them!
Arielle: Arielle is married to a less active member. She is curious about the Church because all of her husbands family is active. We were able to go over and share a message with them about the Plan of Salvation.
Brooke: Brooke is an 8 year old who wants to be taught the lessons so she will be prepared for baptism. Her parents are less active but are trying to start coming back to church.
Claire: Claire is another 8 year old who wants the lessons so she can be prepared for baptism. Her mom is less active but has recently started coming back to church.
So these are the people we are working with. Not all of them of course, we meet with a LOT of Less Active members and try to get them active again.
Today for P day we are playing volleyball and basketball! Which is what we pretty much do every week. not alot of cool things to do in blackfoot. We are excited for all the work going on in the area and can't wait for these baptisms!
I love you guys! hope you have a great week!
Love,

Elder Rash
