Week 37: A Special Sister in the Mission!

Dear Family and Friends

This week has gone by super fast! Like always I guess. :) The weather is getting colder up here and it will probably snow in a couple weeks. Right now it’s just been raining all the time and there is a chill in the wind, and people up here only consider this "fall"! Let’s see if I can fill you in on the week.
This week we have been really busy teaching people. We taught a grand total of 24 lessons and only half were with Active members. That's pretty good in Shelley where everyone is LDS! .... Ok not everyone but like 85%. We met a lot of really cool people. We ate a meal with the Bond family, Yes, Bond, James Bond. :) And we may or may not have seen some of his weaponry.... I cannot confirm or deny this. :) It was like Christmas! haha The Bonds can be very intimidating! Especially when he says that a mile and a half shot ISN'T a difficult shot!!!!!?? But good people!
I've had tons of opportunities to use my talents to help other people! We, along with the Shelley Elders have established Basketball Night. On Saturday nights at 7 we get together with as many Less Actives, Investigators, and Members as possible at the Stake Center and play ball! Not to brag but I've gotten a lot better because of it! It’s a great way to fellowship people AND we share a spiritual thought afterwards and start with a prayer to invite the spirit! There are also quite a few Less Active members who play the guitar really well. And so I've used my lack of being able to play the guitar well to fellowship them and they can teach me how to play better! :) I have really come to love the people in Shelley! They love to hunt and fish and be outdoors so I’m pretty much in heaven! Speaking of hunting! This week we ate freshly killed ELK steaks. :) Delicious! Not gamey at all.
So last night Elder Blake and I came home to quite a surprise.... we opened the door to our apartment and standing inside was a GOAT!!!!! Now Elder Blake has an irrational fear of farm animals, something about an animal revolution, needless to say he nearly jumped through the ceiling. I was a little calmer but still, there was a GOAT in our apartment!!!! Then we heard the laughter coming from our kitchen. They Shelley Elders had pulled the best prank ever. They had found a goat on the side of the road and decided to have a little fun. Even better was the fact that they got it all on video! The goat ended up being very tame and loving. Besides the fact it had been goat napped to appease the sick humor of the Shelley Elders... But their actions will have repercussions... Stay tuned to the next couple letters... >:)
Oh! And on a side note, I DID ask permission before going to my grandparent’s old farm. And they dogs were still sicked on us!
Well that's all I got for today! I love you guys and hope all is well! Thanks to all those who send me letters! It’s always nice to hear about what's going on at home! :)
Love,
Elder Rash
NOTE: Elder Rash got a special visit from a special sister in his mission today! It was a joyous reunion. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...even for siblings!
