From Caleb's Parents

Tonight I find myself at the end of two years of posting Caleb's letters to his blog. The next posting on Monday will be his last letter home. This time next week our house will be filled with family and friends welcoming him home. For me the two years has flown. For Mistie it has been slow and she is soooo ready to have him home.

I wanted to post some thoughts prior to Caleb's last letter. As parents we are so proud of Caleb and his committment to put his life on hold for two years to serve the Lord. Outside of missions and military service there are not many young men or young women in the world that do this type of thing that requires such dedicated service. We have seen him grow from a boy into a man.

I also want to thank all of our family and friends who have supported Caleb on his mission through generous contributions to his mission fund, emotional and spiritual support through letters, and many other ways that you will never know about. I also want to thank the great members of the church in Southeastern Idaho who have cared for our son as their own during the past 2 years. We have been so grateful for the friends and distant cousins that Caleb has come in contact with during his mission. To the Hammon Family we thank you for all the support you have given Caleb during the past 2 years. We expect you to come south for a visit when it gets too cold for you up there. Our family has truly been blessed in so many ways through the actions of others.

Finally, we are so thankful for Caleb and the contribution he has made to help other people, to share his faith with others, and to set a good example for those around him. His efforts have blessed the lives of others and have made a difference that will positively impact others for generations. Having served a mission myself I know that despite the great service he has given he will have reaped the greatest blessing from his service. He has learned skills and developed attributes that will make him a better husband, father, and leader.

So long for now....look for a new Blog for Elder Rash in about 6 months when our son Ryland will leave for a mission. One down...two to go.
