Week 47: IT. IS. COLD.

IT. IS. COLD.

Hello everyone from the coldest place on Earth! Idaho!!!!
So right now it's about 3 degrees out. Last night it was negative 10. It's so cold your nose hairs freeze! hahah It's a really weird feeling! At nights I wear every warm piece of clothing I have! It works pretty well at keeping my body warm so that's good! And in all honesty I cannot complain. We are blessed enough to have a car now. :) Which is good because I would die in this weather! But all this snow is really good for Idaho! It refills the reserves for the farmers so that they can water their crops in the summer! So hopefully it keeps up!

Well I would love to say that this week was amazing and we had tons of success... But unfortunately this week has been a bust. Now don't get me wrong there was a lot of good stuff happening... I'll just get on with it.
This last Thursday we had our Christmas Zone Conference. It was a lot of fun! :) I got to see Elder Porter, which is always a blast! There was regular training and counsel in the morning, and then in the afternoon we had a Talent Show, which was a lot of fun! Then a slide show of tons of photos and videos from the Mission. And then we had a Christmas program with musical numbers and talks on Christmas from Elders and Sisters. It was awesome. We also got to see SANTA!!!! And we were all given a special gift :)

That was the highlight of my week. The rest of the week was really slow. We had a few Christmas parties to go to. We even had our investigators come and had a really good time! Sadly we met with Gary and Krystie last night. And they had bad news. They won't be ready for their Baptisms :( They are still preparing but they have things they are still working on. They are an awesome family.
We also met with Wes, we had a GREAT lesson! He went to church AND went over to a members home to watch the Christmas Devotional! We had a lesson and wanted to solidify his baptismal date. And unfortunately he said he wants to wait until he has the support of his kids. :( He still loves going to church and we pray he will receive an answer that this is what he needs to do.

Also we were teaching Ashten. But because he is going to the Spanish Branch, he technically should be being taught by the Spanish Elders. So we told the Spanish elders about it and they want to teach him. So unfortunately he is no longer our investigator... :(
So it's been a cold slow week for us. But we are praying hard and hoping for blessings as we work hard! A lot of people are leaving or busy for the holidays too. I know that as we work hard we will have success!

I love you guys! Merry Christmas!

Missionary Awkward Moments!

The Aftermath

Note: We got a text message with these photos from the Smith family in Blackfoot. Their Labs obviously love missionaries. The Smith's have a son currently serving in the Lehi 2nd Ward here in Mesa. He has been out for 5 weeks. We are grateful when we get these notes and pics from families in Idaho and we try to do the same for the missionaries here. Thank you to the Smith's for these photos!
