Week 93: Let It Snow....Let It Snow.....Let It Snow

Greetings Friends and Loved Ones

This week was FUN!!!! Being Halloween week we had quite a bit of good times!

First off on Monday we went to a Corn Maze. When we got there they loaded us up in a hay bale wagon pulled by a tractor and took us out to pick free pumpkins! After we had the pumpkin of our choosing they hauled us back to the beginning of the Maze. We left our pumpkins and set out on our adventure. They told us to go in intervals of a few minutes to make it more fun so we weren't all following the leader. Elder Blake and I chose to go together, father and son, just like old times! After a few minutes in the Maze it became a race. The Rules were No running, and no cutting through the maze. Elder Blake and i were behind Elder Wauneka and Elder Simmons so we, very briskly walked trying to catch up. Every now and again there would be a fork in the Maze and a question, how you answered the question it told you which direction to go. If you got it right you were on the right path, if not you hit a dead end or a crop circle. Elder Blake is well versed in uncommon farm questions. I had no idea that earthworms can consume more than 2 tons of soil in 1 year! Anyways as we were making our way through the maze we got closer and closer to the front runners. As they realized this they started moving quicker and quicker... so we started moving quicker and quicker. Eventually we were right behind them, another rule was that you couldn't pass unless the people in front answered the question wrong and went the wrong way and you went the right way. It was getting down to the wire and the finish line was in sight. We had to make a gamble so on the last question Elder Wauneka and Simmons went one way and we chanced it and went the other way.... Sadly however we went the wrong way, Simmons and Wauneka finished first and we came up behind them. Overall a 1.5 mile maze took us 15 minutes to complete. As all the elders waited we played hacky sack and other fun games until 10 minutes later all the sisters emerged from the maze! It was a fun activity to do right before it gets really cold.

Tuesday and Wednesday we had District meetings to go to and investigators to visit.

Thursday was Weekly planning and running errands for the zone. I now know what it’s like to have 16 wanting teenagers! (Mother, i apologize for all the rough goes i gave you.)

Then Friday was Mission Leadership Council. It was really great to see a lot of good friends in that meeting as well as discuss the ways to help the mission achieve the goals we set. President Brinkerhoff talked a lot about Captain Moroni and how he prepared the minds and hearts of his people to be faithful to God before he ever prepared them for war. And that he thought outside the box and changed up the way the people of Nephi did everything. So that when the Lamanites came to battle they had no idea what to do because they'd never seen anything like it before. President applied that to us and how we need to prepare the minds of our zone to achieve our goals in ways that have never been done before! It was really cool. I always learn a lot from President Brinkerhoff.

Friday Night was Halloween!!!! For Halloween the mission tells us to go to a Church Building and stay there because people like to dress up as missionaries and cause problems. So they allow us to watch regular movies for a night! :) :) so we all decided in one room to watch the Lego Movie and Frozen and in the other room people watched Second Hand Lions and Tron. It was a lot of fun to just relax.

WEATHER ALERT: It snowed all day yesterday here in Pocatello. Not enough to stick to the Ground but there is snow on the Mountains. It's really pretty but really cold now.

Today is going to be a busy day. Shopping, Laundry, working out, and doing it all without a vehicle. YAY! ... but I’m not bitter....

Hey i love all yall and hope everything is going well! :) Remember who you are! Walk tall and Know that God loves you.

Love
Elder Rash
